Silverdawn Jumbo was born in September, 1997. We have used him
extensively since 1999; his first calves for us were born in the Spring
of 2000.

Jumbo’s heifers reliably weigh between 65 lbs and 75 lbs. We routinely
use him on first calf heifers without worry. His bull calves range from
70 to 80 lbs. He has a good disposition and seems to pass on his gentle
nature to his calves.

Jumbo was DNA tested for the tenderness genes by both the GeneStar
(Bovigen Solutions) and Tendergene (Frontier Beef Systems) methods.
He had a perfect 6 stars (the highest score) for GeneStar and scored
a perfect “5” on Tendergene. We have had many compliments(and
repeat customers) on the beef that he has produced for our direct-market
sales. His calves will finish high select or low choice on forage alone if your

forage is good enough for the animals to gain over a pound per day.

Jumbo’s calves are thick and wide – real “beefy” with nice chunky
